Dear Prospective Student:

If you are looking for a great way to stay in shape without getting bored we have the answer! For over 2,000 years the people of the East have looked towards martial arts as the perfect way to increases fitness, flexibility and stamina. In fact martial arts is the world's best all round workout because not only does it give your body an awesome work out but it sharpens your mind as well!

At Martial Arts America we believe that developing and maintaining a sound body and mind are critical to getting the most out of life. In our adult programs you will experience a unique approach to self defense and exercise that benefits the body and the mind. To strengthen your body, you will begin with isometric and dynamic tension exercises. Flexibility will be enhanced through a gradual building process of safe and easy stretching techniques. You will find that the breathing and concentration exercises sharpen your senses and reflexes while allowing you to relax from the stress of daily life. This unique combination of using the power of the body and of the mind is the key to increased energy, self discipline, and fitness for a longer happier life.

“A Black Belt is a White Belt That Never Quits!”  My sons, Jacob and Shane, hear that in class at Martial Arts America (MAA). Now, almost two years later, they both are well on their way to becoming black belts with help from instructors Master Aaron Hensley and his sister, Falon. I have watched this brother/sister team interact with their students to make learning martial arts fun, while challenging them to improve. With each belt evaluation, I can see increased confidence in the students as their skills improve. My boys always look forward to attending class. I attended a free self-defense class for women at MAA and learned many helpful skills to protect myself against an attack, as well as how to avoid one. At the end of the class, we could practice getting away from a live “attacker” by using some of the skills we learned. Finally, after nearly two years of watching from the sidelines, I decided to sign up for classes. After only a few weeks, I regretted not signing up sooner! I feel motivated to work out and look forward to my next class and learning something new. "Several years ago my son Jacob and I began martial arts instruction.  My then 5-year-old son and I "shopped" a few schools and chose Martial Arts America .  Why?  In part because it was family oriented and included instruction in traditional Karate, self defense, sparing, forms, weapons, and more.  As Christians, it was also important that there was no promotion of the Far Eastern religious belief systems.
